Stuck at home? The positive side of it.

In this period what we need most is a little bit of positivity.

If you're stuck at home take advantage of that. Spend time with your family, play with your kids, read a book.

Sooner or later it will be over and we could all get stronger out of it if we put this time into improving ourselves.

Get better in any area you wanted to improve but you didn't have the time to do it before. Take advantage of this time and learn something new. Read a book, take a course, join a webinar. Anything you could do to stay away from the negative news and grow yourself personally so you get out stronger on the other side of it.

I am grateful to have a loving wife by my side.

I am grateful for my healthy body.

I am grateful for having a warm and cozy house.

I am grateful for my gifts and talents.

You know, there is a big difference between being grateful and being thankful. We usually say thank you for something we have received so it has to do with the past, but being grateful is being thankful for something that you know is going to happen in the future. 

I thought to add clarification in regards to the difference between being Thankful vs Grateful.

Are you part of a team or a workgroup?

You might wonder what has this to do with me?
 
Well, it has everything to do with you because if you're part of a team or a workgroup, chances are the people in that group are different than you are.
 
And, we have found through research and the application of our tools with companies all over the world, that diversity and inclusion are two critical parts of effective teamwork.
 
And I think you would agree with that, right?
 
Because we cannot expect that a team performs well if they don't understand each other's individualities and they cannot meet on that important field of common ground.

Hey, this is Florin with another video. I hope you have a great day.

The topic that I want to share with you today, is servant leadership. And I want you to grasp this because I was not as good as I wanted to be when I was in a leadership position when I led teams and projects. I didn't apply this to the best degree, but I hope you will. I hope you would get this and you apply it.

This is not something that I just invented or something that I realized. It's something I learned.

Some of you that know, last November we had the Live2Lead event in Gothenburg which was a broadcast event from Atlanta, Georgia. And one of the speakers at the event was Chris Hogan. Chris is very well known in the United States and internationally as a keynote speaker and for his motivational talks.

One of the things he shared that stuck with me ever since was this idea of servant leadership. Not only the idea but how do you put it in practice?

What if organizations would be built around people?

 

What if organizations would be built around people?

A few weeks ago watching the European Premiere of the movie Life on Wheels at an event hosted by Drive Sweden in Gothenburg, my take away was that we build today's cities around cars instead of building them around people.

That's exactly true. I looked outside my home office window and I saw two car parking spots in front of my house.

Reflecting more on this idea, I realized that most companies are built around business systems, production systems, the services and products they offer and no too much around people.

What if companies would be built around people?

What if organizations would focus solely on building the best teams possible?

My opinion is that a top-performing team allows a company to reach any level of performance they set for themselves. Every business should focus on this rather than setting growth objectives first and then recruiting the people to fit the organization's structure and to reach its...
